Harlem rapstress Azealia Banks has become Brazil’s number 1 public enemy. In yet another social media faux pas. She called Brazilians “third-world freaks” and claimed she “didn’t know they had internet in the favela.”
Brazilians snapped back, asking “Azealia who?”
Others crossed the line, throwing racial slurs at her. Azealia Banks learned the hard way that Brazilians aren’t good sports when foreigners criticize the country, like when The Simpsons came to Brazil in 2002 or when Robin Williams talked about Rio 2016 on Letterman in 2009.
Banks said all the wrong things about Brazil, but you don’t fight prejudice with prejudice
