With an inexperienced squad, Germany won the Confederations Cup over Chile. And it also took the first place from Brazil’s national team in the Fifa Rankings. This is the first time in two years the German team has reached the top of the list. Argentina’s in the third place. The rankings take only recent performances under consideration.

Germany has also won the Under-21 World Championship. And the Germans are, of course, the current Fifa world champions.

Fans proud of Brazil’s national team again thanks to Tite

But Brazilians are not too worried about losing first place. After a humiliating defeat by 7-1 to Germany in the 2014 World Cup and a shaky start on the qualifiers for 2018, the country has fallen back in love with the seleção, Brazil’s national team.

In September, Brazilians were in 6th place for the World Cup qualifiers – not good enough to advance to the finals. Soccer fans were fed up with the squad and there was no shortage of booing. Forty days later, the team’s situation completely turned around. And it was all because of coach Tite.

With him on the bench not only the team improved, but Brazil’s national team was the first nation to qualify for Russia 2018.Brazil kept its streak as the only nation that has taken part in each of the 21 World Cups. Germany and Italy come in second, with 18 appearances each. Stars such as Neymar and Philippe Coutinho started to play like fans always dreamed they would.

It’s no wonder, then, that 15 percent of Brazilians want Tite for President.
