Yesterday, Brazilians celebrated Corpus Christi. The Christian holiday honors the Eucharist, which is Christ’s symbolic presence on earth in a host body.
During the Corpus Christi holiday, evangelical groups host the “March for Jesus” – a São Paulo event that attracts hundreds of thousands every year. In fact, over 25 years the event has shown the growth of evangelicals in Brazil. This year alone, 2 million Christians gathered in celebration of the body of Christ. Organizers called it “the largest Christian event on Earth.”
